Joan Burrows geriet als Teenagerin in die Fänge des Psychopathen Bishop, dieser stellte Joan Burrows vor die perfide Wahl, der Tötung an einem Gefangenen zuzustimmen, oder selbst zu Tode gefoltert zu werden. Joan jedoch tötete Bishop nachdem sie sich befreien konnte. Die Morde hörten auf. 16 Jahre später kehrt Joan nach Ovid zurück, um bei der Krönung ihrer Nichte Olimpia zur Prom Queen dabei zu sein.. Schon kurze Zeit später beginnt erneut eine Serie von brutalen Morden, bei der vor allem Freunde von Joans Nichte verschleppt und getötet werden. Joans glaub dass Bishop für die Verbrechen verantwortlich ist, als nun auch noch ihre Nichte verschwindet, macht sich auf die Suche nach dem Mörder. Die Polizei verdächtigt Joan stattdessen und verhaftet sie. Jedoch kann Joan kurze Zeit später,aus dem Gefängnis fliehen und setzt alles daran, Olympia zu retten.
